Why is a Veterinarian under "Agriculture and Natural Resources"?
Q. I don't understand this classification. This section contains mostly agriculture, farming, foresting, etc. To be a vet you have to have a doctorates degree, all the same requirements as a human doctor. I think it should be under "Health Science" like a doctor. Explanation please?
Asked by AdorableEmu54 - Tue Oct 5 19:13:46 2010 - Medicine - 1 Answers - Comments
A. Because historically, veterinarians main duties were for agricultural animals. Vets mostly worked with cattle, swine, horses, etc. Dogs and cats were considered farm animals as well because they mostly had jobs on the farm too. Also, veterinary schools used to be part of an agriculture program. Most aren't anymore but the majority of vet schools are still housed in schools that started out primarily agriculture based. But, as fewer and fewer people farm, and moved into the cities so did veterinarians. Veterinarians are still the first line of defense for animal agriculture and food safety. So, that is still an appropriate classification. But, you are correct that it also has many things in common with health sciences. The only reason… [cont.]

What does "Capacity Factor for Renewable Resources" mean?
Q. I'm doing a renewable energy report for science, and it says that biomass is 20-90% of the Capacity Factor for Renewable Resources. What does this mean? Is it a renewable stat? HELP!!

A. Capacity Factor = (Actual Power Output over a period of time) / (Full Nameplate Output over that same period of time) Every power plant has a capacity factor. Coal or Nuclear have a CF in the 95%+ range because they operate day and night at nearly 100% of their rated output and rarely stop. Solar panels would have a much lower CF (roughly 15%) because they only operate in sunlight. Wind farms roughly 30%. From your stats, it appears that a biomass plant may operate between 20% to 90% of its total output capacity over the course of a typical day. Maintenance, fuel quality, and fuel supply variations are a few variables that might contribute towards defining the CF of a particular biomass plant. The CF is the primary limiting factor for… [cont.]

Next time think broadening it for children of different abilities (think special needs and young ones) Maybe a stick with a hand to point to certain pictures or words in the book. Dont be afraid to go back over the story again asking questions, get the kids to use your stick and point with it. For example if you were reading to very young children or children with impairments, you could pass something around, like the gingerbreadman story, pass round a cookie cutter, something that smells gingery, a baking tray, if there are repetative bits get the kids to say it too. Every story you can do loads with it. Three little pigs, pass round bit… [cont.]

What can I do for limewire not to say "need more resources"?
Q. A lot of the music I download will say "need more resources" but I try to get the song with the # the highest and it will still say need more resources, What does it mean but need more resources?? What can I do to get the song that will not say that
Asked by trying to help - Fri Jan 2 12:08:14 2009 - Other - Computers - 4 Answers - Comments
A. That means there aren't enough sources (hosts) that have the song to place on the internet for, software like Lime Wire to download from. If there aren't many of those online, it will say "Need more Sources". It also depends on your network speed, and that depends on your area and broadband provider. So you can't prevent it, but go online at a quiet time when you think hardly anyone will be online.

Economics- How to explain "capital resources" one sentence?
Q. As if you're saying it to someone who has never done economics before, a way of explaining that will deliver the info concisely and clearly deliver the accurate meaning of capital resources? Can be 2 sentences maximum.
Asked by Goal: -6 by 0209 - Mon Jul 14 08:50:28 2008 - Economics - 3 Answers - Comments
A. Capital resources are resources used in a production process that were previously produced -- as contrasted with labor (the human input) and raw materials(resources used more or less in their natural state). So capital is something we produce that is designed to be reused in a production process (examples are buildings, equipment and so forth).
